It's been a while
So I have't been very active, both for good reasons and bad. The good reason I guess is that there was a lot of personal shit going on in my life and i felt it might be smarter to experience life for a while rather then spend all my time narrating it. Idk, After Shoegazing I wasn't feeling a lot of inspiration, and I felt like I wasn't making the type of music I wanted to make. I guess I should've been active on the blog, but I'm not that type of creator. I'm the type that updates in spurts, when the moment strikes me. I'm not the kind to schedule my creativity on a weekly basis.
I've also been focusing on trying to build a stereo distortion pedal for a while and it ended up being not properly grounded and electrocuting me. Idk how or why but it is, and so I'm just gonna let it be for a while and come back when i know a thing or too about electricity. I really do wanna finish it though because it sounded really good and if anyone has any tips on how to ground a circuit they should tell me.
The truth is these past couple of months have been a real roller coaster, and I'm heading off to college soon, and I felt that I couldn't just sit in my house clicking things with my mouse while there was all this life happening around me. I've never been the most popular kid, art was a refugee for me in a lot of ways. While all the cool kids were out drinking and driving i was sitting at home making music. And that was cool, I'm glad I did it. But I'm ready for a change of scene now. I'm gonna make music for the rest of my life, but it's not gonna be in this house. I wanna get out and see a different part of the world, and college is that opportunity for me. All music stuff is packed up and ready to go.
That doesn't mean I haven't been thinking about music. I've got all this material lined up in my head. One of these days I'm gonna come out with like three albums at once. If I can manage it I might even get an album in by this winter. There are just a lot of complications and I feel like a lot of the projects require things I can't deliver. There's also just a lot of pieces that need to be put in place and I haven't yet figure out how to do it.
Anyway, thank you everyone. Thank you everyone whose downloaded a song, watched a video, read a blog post, like the facebook, or even followed me on twitter. Those are helpful, and it makes me feel good to know that someone appreciates what I do. But I'm ready for something different now. I will never quit being x^2, don't you worry. Not ever. x^2 will never die.

Why you should go see Spring Breakers
So I figure the college admission counselors have already made their decision by now, Hence I'm resuming the blog. I hope everyone enjoyed the new ep that came out on Monday. The summer LP is well on its way, and if you all are super lucky you may even get a new ep in april (been listening to some MBV). Honestly this time of year is kind of the worst because I have so many new ideas but i still haven't finished the summer LP so i have to focus on that. This is what happened with TYGFAC last year. In all honesty the last track wasn't finished until about a day before if was put up. Not to mention theres this other LP i'm working on too and it's like Oh my god brain hush I need to rap.
But anyway, enough about me, I'm here to talk about why Spring Breakers is really good and why you should do see it. Thanks to it's obnoxiously competent VICE marketing campaign, it sold itself too well as a stupid movie and now no one is going to see it. This is a shame because the movie is not at all stupid and really good. Harmony Korine is a seriously talented director and he deserves all your money and since I pirated Julian Donkey Boy I was more then happy to give him my money for this.
First off, the movie is shot excellently. It looks really, really nice. There's all these flashing lights and upside down camera angles and it's honestly really beautiful. Secondly, despite being all big and mainstream, it is a still a Harmony Korine movie. He didn't sell out, he didn't water himself down, nothing like that. It's just the right amount of Harmony Korine weirdness to make this movie fuck with people in just the right way. When I went to see it there was like 2 people in the theater and that made me sad because seriously this is not at all a stupid movie and really needs to trip everyone's nut. Had I not already known who Harmony Korine was, my head would've exploded. It's a classic Harmony Korine subversion that manages to deconstruct your expectations without being self referential and pretentious. It manages to blow your mind, but instead of going "oooh look at that i just blew your mind" it just lets your mind actually get blown. It's brilliant.
So to all the smart people: this is a stunning movie from a very talented director who is gonna kick your mind in the ass.
To all the dumb people: Holy shit this movie has so many tits and beer and dubstep holy fuck I got so hard in the theater go see it bro!
Go see this fucking movie.

so many singles, so little time
Since I haven't been too active as of late (school has been kicking my ass), I just uploaded FIVE NEW SINGLES for you all to chew on. Some of them you have seen and I am just now getting up the download links because I am lazy, but 3 of them are brand new! So go nuts. Happy holidays, whatever.
Also I will uplaoding the fourth x^2 vlog today. I know I said there was goinna be a desert bus vlog but school made it ahrd for em to work on it and all the time I would've spent editing that got put into that Franz Kafka thing and then I felt like the moment had past so I didn't do it. So instead, you all get to watch me jam around with my new fangled KP3, which is really fucking awesome and if you like making music (even if you dont like composing but just like jamming and shit) you should get it because it is the most fun I have had in a while.

ERROR: I MESSED SOMETHING UP
So guys and girls, because I am a genius, the song "661" on the album prime numbers is not actually the version of the song that I wanted you all to hear, but is actually a work in progress. As such, I have reuploaded the Prime numbers .rar file with the new version and have included a link beneath it that allows people to do download just the new version of 661.
If you downloaded Prime Numbers before today (aka 7/11/2011) you do not have the correct version of 661 and should click this link now.
